Meet your guide at Castle Clinton and board the ferry to Liberty Island with early reserve line access. On the ride over, you’ll hear the surprising history behind the statue — stories most visitors never learn. Once on Liberty Island, your private guide walks you through the grounds and highlights what’s worth seeing, including the Statue of Liberty Museum and its exhibits on the monument and the original torch.
From there, hop back on the ferry and cruise over to Ellis Island, where millions of immigrants arrived between 1892 and 1954. Your guide will point out key sites on the grounds, including the American Immigrant Wall of Honor, and give you a preview of the Ellis Island National Immigration Museum so you know exactly what to look for when you explore it on your own.
Stay as long as you’d like on Ellis Island before catching the ferry back to Battery Park.

Where we meet
Meet your guide outside the front entrance of Castle Clinton in Battery Park. Your guide will be on the steps outside of the north entrance of the castle, holding an orange flag. This is the entrance facing the buildings in Manhattan.

How much walking is there?
We’ll be on our feet for most of the tour on Liberty and Ellis islands. The ferry also has stairs. For this private tour, we can work with your mobility level to make sure you have a great experience.
What can we bring?
There are security screenings before entering the ferry, so don’t bring weapons, locking blades, tools, non-folding umbrellas, tripods, laptops, coolers, luggage, drones, sewing kits, lighter fluid, or anything propelled by aerosol.
Are the museums on Liberty and Ellis islands included?
The National Park Service does not allow any guiding inside the Statue of Liberty Museum or the Ellis Island National Museum of Immigration. You will have time to explore these landmarks on your own during your visit after an introduction from your guide.
Are pedestal and crown access included in my tour?
No, these are not included in your tour. Guided tours are not allowed in the pedestal or crown at the Statue of Liberty.
Is this tour wheelchair accessible?
Yes, this tour is accessible for both wheelchairs and strollers.
What is the cancellation policy?
We understand plans change. We offer a 100% refund or the option to reschedule up to 24 hours before your tour start time. Cancellations within 24 hours aren’t eligible for refunds or rescheduling.
What if it rains?
Our tours run rain or shine, so please check the local forecast to plan. In rare cases when we have to cancel for extreme weather, we’ll offer you the chance to reschedule or give a full refund.
